Just call me angel of the mornin, angel

It all comes down to what that nice Derek** man said...QUIT YER BITCHIN AND GET A NEW JOB FER CRYIN OUT LOUD AMANADOO!

TRUE, he wasn't all mean about it.
TRUE, he wasn't all 'I gradyeeated da furth grade' about it.
But I know that's how he was thinking it! Don't ask how I know, just know that I know that you know that I know. OK.

But that brings me to an interesting point. What, exactly, does one have to do to corner the market on a bullshit part time job around here?

I mean, this burg is practically busting at the seams with non-skilled jobs. Why won't anyone reach out a helping hand and give one of them to me? Is it my hand writing? Did I somehow mess up the sequence of questions on the computerized doo-hickies that lotsa places make you do your apps. on? Is it my hump? Cause if you give me a job, I'll save up the money to get that surgically removed pronto. I swear.

The truth is that getting a place to pay you for something, even on the very very bottom of the things you can do for money totem pole, is all about who you know. And a whole bunch of greasy teenagers with parents and aunts and uncles and church group leaders who can get them jobs are running amuck all over this place.

But I, gentle reader, have not lost hope-- and you shouldn't either.

We are about to move on to bigger an better things, you and I.

WAN

A wide area network or WAN is a computer network covering a wide geographical area, involving a vast array of computers. This is different from personal area networks (PANs), metropolitan area networks (MANs) or local area networks (LANs) that are usually limited to a room, building or campus. The best example of a WAN is the Internet.
WANs are used to connect local area networks (LANs) together, so that users and computers in one location can communicate with users and computers in other locations. Many WANs are built for one particular organization and are private. Others, built by Internet service providers, provide connections from an organization's LAN to the Internet. WANs are most often built using leased lines. At each end of the leased line, a router connects to the LAN on one side and a hub within the WAN on the other. Network protocols including TCP/IP deliver transport and addressing functions. Protocols including Packet over SONET/SDH, MPLS, ATM and Frame relay are often used by service providers to deliver the links that are used in WANs. X.25 was an important early WAN protocol, and is often considered to be the "grandfather" of Frame Relay as many of the underlying protocols and functions of X.25 are still in use today (with upgrades) by Frame Relay.
Academic research into wide area networks can be broken down into three areas: Mathematical models, network emulation and network simulation.

Astrology

Astrology, like other forms of pseudoscience, tries to lay claim to the prestige of science without submitting itself to the discipline of the scientific method. The key is falsifiability. Some believers in astrology consult a horoscope published in a newspaper, which claims to make predictions for the coming day. Newspapers often publish horoscope columns with the title "Astrological Forecast," implying that they should be considered on the same footing with weather forecasts. However, astrology has failed carefully designed empirical tests of its predictive claims,[1] unlike meteorology, which, although not always correct, has been proved to be statistically more accurate than random guessing.
As is often the case with pseudoscience, the practitioners of astrology respond to such disproof either by changing their claims, or by refusing to accept the scientific method as a valid test of their claims. As an example of changing their claims, some astrologers may say that astrology is only useful when the astrologer can have personal contact with the client, in which case the newspaper astrology columns should be abolished. If, on the other hand, the scientific method is to be rejected entirely, the problem is that astrologers do not agree on any alternative method of determining whether a particular astrological method is any more or less correct than any other.
There are also some specific criticisms about methodology that scientists make of astrologers. Almost all modern astrologers eschew direct observation in favour of specially constructed astrological ephemeris.

When will short term rental home owners in Florida wise up?

Despite the fact that vacation rental property prices in the Disney area are going through the roof, rental prices remain low.

Whilst the low costs can be seen by some as good for the consumer, the truth is that nobody wins in the longer term. The value offered by the short term rental homes is amazing when compared to the prices of close by motels. It would be a shame if this market was to slump to the point where owners can no longer afford to offer their beautiful villas to tourists.

Steve Curtis, CEO of Fab Villas who specializes in marketing these fabulous properties to holiday-makers, said “As the number of rental properties continues to grow, many owners are foolishly undercutting each other simply to make the monthly mortgage payment. This means that if they don’t obtain a booking for in excess of around 48 weeks per year they will probably lose money.”

If owners cannot afford the upkeep of their properties the rental subdivisions will eventually begin to look and feel dilapidated and will therefore become undesirable.

If there is nothing in it for the owners, then these rental homes will simply cease to exist and that means that we all lose out.

Let’s hope that’s not the case.

How hard can it be to find a competent, licensed electrician to install some cable TV points?

If you think it's easy, you would be very wrong.

This is Florida.

Licensed electricians are not cheap. They have trained for years following the lead of a really expensive master electrician and certain jobs are beneath them. Any kind of low voltage job falls into this category, so cable TV points are definitely out.

Competent laborers that actually turn up also seem hard to find.

I needed 6 cable TV points installed at my vacation rental villa in Kissimmee Florida. After 4 weeks of broken promises I got talking to Steve Curtis, CEO of Fab Villas. He suggested that I make contact with Wire It Right, a company that specializes in all kinds of low voltage installations in the Central Florida area.

What a breath of fresh air. Their staff are professional and much to my surprise turned up exactly when they said they would. Their installation could not be faulted, no messy holes in my walls and no cables showing. I would not hesitate to recommend them.
